The global issue ‘Chapter Her’ addresses and seeks to solve is to deconstruct gender stereotypes, biases, and sexism. In response to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and specifically SDG 5 (Gender Equality) which places a strong emphasis on combating such discrimination and achieving a level playing field for all, since achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls is crucial for sustainable development.
The main objectives of this educational program are:
- Promote empathy and understanding towards gender equality through literature
- To encourage critical thinking and questioning of traditional gender roles
- Develop leadership skills in promoting gender equality
- Create a safe and inclusive space for dialogue and expression of thoughts and experiences
- Inspire action, advocacy and change in communities towards gender equality
